Employment:

Murray Head Start experiences job openings its service area throughout the year. By downloading, completing, and submitting your application for employment, your application will be kept on file for one year, and considered for any openings in positions and districts you selected. Job Positions and Requirements:

  • Early Head Start Child Care Provider

    Successful completion of the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is a mandatory requirement for employment as a Child Care Provider, unless employee holds a degree in a related field. Child Care Providers must be able to lift and carry infants and toddlers who may range in weight to a maximum of 45 pounds. Employee must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, sit on and arise from the floor, and reach overhead. The Child Care Provider serves as the primary organizer of the child care center. In this capacity, the Child Care Provider has a variety of decision making roles in establishing a nurturing environment for children and a supportive relationship with families.

  • Early Head Start Home Visitor

    High school diploma or GED is required. AA or BS in Child Development or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred, or must be willing to pursue CDA. Home Visitors must be able to lift and carry infants and toddlers who may range in weight to a maximum of 45 pounds. Employee must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, sit on and arise from the floor, and reach overhead.

  • Family Service Worker

    Bachelor's degree or higher in social work or a related field is required.

  • Family Advocate

    High school diploma or GED is required. General office skills are required, and computer skills are preferred. The Family Advocate job will vary in each district. All Family Advocates will be responsible for general duties and enrollment duties. Responsibilities in health, parent engagement, and family services will be assigned based on district needs.

  • Preschool Teacher

    Interdisciplinary Early Childhood or Early Childhood Education degree is required. Must have or be able to obtain IECE Certification. Experience and/or training in working with preschool children preferred.

  • Preschool Teacher Assistant

    High school diploma or GED is required. AA or BS in Child Development or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred, or be willing to pursue CDA. Experience and/or training in working with preschool children preferred. The responsibilities of the Teacher Assistant are generally supportive in nature. Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, the duties of the Teacher Assistant may be instructional or non-instructional. These include assisting with planning and program implementation, clerical duties, housekeeping duties, and caregiving.
